McKenna was my first class of 2017 senior, and woah did we kick off this class with a bang!! Not only is McKenna family, but she is seriously the most gorgeous girl both inside and out! McKenna and her family were in this neck of the woods for the San Antonio stock show, where she placed 4th place with her lamb and also showed a heifer! She has played in the state volleyball tournament not once, but twice and is attending Texas A&M in the fall, where her brother Ty attends (you can check out his session here.)

Maegan is just so adorable! She graduated from Hondo High School and I was totally thrilled when her and her mom asked me about her senior photography. I did her older brother’s senior photos a couple years ago and I was so excited to get to hang out with Maegan and her mom.

Maegan is going to A&M and I’m sure she is just killin’ it there. And I mean can we just take a minute to look at those eyes??!!! This girl totally slayed her session! Katie Lou rocked her hair and make up by giving her a super natural look that brought out her gorgeous skin and eyes. I hope I can get her in front of my camera again one day because she is a total natural!

I have had a Dia de los Muertos shoot in my mind for probably years now. But on a drive to San Antonio about two weeks before Halloween, without the baby, I actually had some time to brainstorm and think. I just thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone could rock a zombie look or a scary witch, something fun for Halloween. I didn’t really know what I wanted but I did know? Lol, makes no sense, I know, but in my head it did. Whitney messaged me and said she is a make up artist and would love to play along. So we threw a few ideas out and brainstormed together and came up with a Dia de los Muertos shoot.

The day came for the shoot and it was cloudy and overcast, and at first I thought “awww man, I won’t have any sun to do my bright and warm normal style.” But then I remembered we were already doing something a little different, so I decided to stretch a little and did a much darker than my usual style for these. I’ll be a little biased, but I absolutely love the way they came out!

Then she showed up with her make up and vintage black duster and I just about jumped up and down! She totally rocked it and it was exactly what I was picturing in my mind, don’t you just love it when that happens?  I had seen some shoots with smoke bombs but had never gotten to try shooting with them before, so a concept shoot, or basically where I am shooting for me, is a great time to try new things, so I threw them in the bag and hoped the shots would turn out.  Oh, em, gee.  The smoke bomb ones are my absolute favorites!! I can’t wait to use them again!

If you would like to do a concept photo shoot like this or have something else in mind, please feel free to contact me, I would love to “stretch my legs” a bit!

Bayli is just the cutest, most laid back and easy to work with girl! She didn’t care what we did during her session. We had a great time going down the Pearl Brewery and walking around getting some great shots!  Bayli is off to Sam Houston State in the fall to be, get this, a forensic chemist! How cool is that! I know she’ll do amazing there!

I’ve literally known Grace her entire life, poor thing, I used to wag her around like she was one of my baby dolls! Fast forward 18 years, and here I am blogging her senior session, crazy! And makes me feel incredibly old, like I needed another reminder! She is headed to the University of Texas in Austin in the Fall and I know she will do absolutely amazing.
