2018 Colorado Trip

If you follow me on instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been in Colorado this whole week. This is my third year to be asked to photograph the San Luis Valley Fair, it’s a stock show in Monte Vista, Colorado. I so enjoy this show, the people are so friendly, the scenery is gorgeous and it’s always insanely hot when we leave so it’s a nice little break from the heat of Texas! I thought this would be a good time to share some photos I took last year!

My cousin went with me last year so we did some adventuring while we were here! We started off in Colorado Springs, we went to Garden of the Gods first, if you ever get a chance to go here, do it!! It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! We had a great time hiking and seeing the formations and views. Then we rewarded ourselves with a lunch at Fat Shack!!! Sooooooo good, they basically take anything that’s yummy and put it on a sandwich together!

Then we headed to Monte Vista for the show. The last day we had a long break in between events so we headed to Great Sand Dune National Park, it was only about a 30 minute drive. It is the tallest sand dune in North America, I thought that was pretty cool. We had a blast walking the 39052358032 miles to get to the dunes, then Hunter walked another 3705274905 miles to try to get to the top of the largest dune, lol.

This is always a fun trip and I look forward to it every year! A huge thanks goes to the San Luis Valley Fair board for asking me back and letting me escape the Texas heat for awhile!
